Agents

Let an AI trade, on a leash.

Customers can let an AI assistant trade for them within limits they choose. The limits are enforced on-chain at the moment of the trade, so a misbehaving agent can't go past them.

The problem

Agents are arriving faster than safeguards

  • An agent with full account access can spend everything in seconds.
  • Checks in the broker's app can be skipped if the agent talks to a venue directly.
  • Customers want to delegate small decisions, not hand over the keys.
  • Regulators will ask who authorised each trade.

How it works

What Fletchery does

Per-trade caps, daily caps, stock allowlists and an off switch for AI assistants.

01

The customer sets the rules

A mandate names the agent, a per-trade limit, a daily limit, an expiry, whether it may sell, and which stocks it may touch.

02

Enforced where the trade happens

The venue checks the mandate during the trade itself. If the order breaks any rule, the whole trade is reversed.

03

The customer's money, the customer's shares

The agent never holds funds. It spends from the customer's account and the shares land back in the customer's wallet.

04

One switch to stop it

Revoking the mandate takes effect immediately. Every agent order, allowed or refused, is logged with its reason.

Under the hood

The details

These are the values the Fletchery prototype enforces today.

Mandate settingBehaviour
Per-trade limitRefuses any single order above it
Daily limitRefuses an order that would take the day's total above it; resets each UTC day
ExpiryRefuses all orders after the expiry time
Sells allowedIf off, the agent can only buy
Stock allowlistRefuses stocks not on the list, unless set to any stock
RevokeKill switch: refuses everything from that agent immediately
Questions

Common questions

Does the agent need its own identity check?

No. The customer is verified; the agent is only authorised through the customer's mandate.

Can the broker see agent activity?

Yes. Agent orders are marked as algorithmic in the order trail, with the mandate that allowed or refused them.
